Income Survey

Published by jeff.sewert on October 13th, 2011 - in Uncategorized

Attention Lewisburg Residents!

You can help your village to be eligible for grants through various governmental programs. An income survey was sent out to all residents. By completing this survey and turning it in either at the office or sending it to Key Engineering in the enclosed envelope, you will be helping your village receive grants to help reduce the cost of the village’s infrastructure improvements and help keep the wastewater plant up to date.

If you have not received this survey, please stop by or call the village office. This is one way you can help your village in these difficult economic times. Thank you!

Leaf Pick-up – Hydrant Flushing

Published by jeff.sewert on October 11th, 2011 - in Uncategorized

The leaf pick-up program will begin on Monday, October 17th and continue through early December. Please rake the leaves away from the curb to keep the storm water drains clear. Do not include limbs, sticks or yard debris in you leaves for pick-up.

Fire hydrants will be flushed the week of October 24th from 11 PM to 4 AM. Your water may appear cloudy, but will clear up in a short time. If you happen to do laundry during this time and the clothing becomes stained, we have a chemical at the village office that will take the stain out. Just stop by the office and pick up a packet.

Village to Conduct Survery for Grant Funds

Published by jeff.sewert on September 19th, 2011 - in Uncategorized

The Lewisburg Council is conducting an income survey of the households located in the Village. Grants recently received by the Village have been used to make improvements on Cumberland Street and other locations throughout the Village. In these economic times, the Village is striving to make a concerted effort to seek out other grant sources, but need the help of the Village residents in order to do so.

The information to be obtained will be used to establish the Village’s eligibility for grants through various governmental programs. Through the procurement of grant dollars, infrastructure improvements can be made at a reduced cost to the Village, including upcoming alterations to the Village’s wastewater treatment facility. These grant dollars also help to minimize utility cost increases to Village residents.

All residents will be receiving a mailing from the Village that will include the survey form. The Village would appreciate everyone completing the information requested and then returning the form with payment of your utility bill, placing it in the outside slot of the utility payment box, or dropping it off at the Village Office.

All surveys will remain confidential and will be used in a collective manner to determine information for the Village as a whole. A minimum number of surveys must be received in order for the survey to be certified by the State of Ohio. If this is not achieved through the return of the surveys by mail, someone will contact you by visiting your home to obtain the information so the survey can be complete.

Any questions regarding the survey may be directed to Jeff Sewert, Village Manager at 962-4377. The Council thanks the residents for their continued support and assistance.

Derby Days

Published by jeff.sewert on August 10th, 2011 - in Uncategorized

Derby Days is fast approaching. The village service department is hard at work making preparations by keeping our streets clean, picking up brush and painting curbs. Next Thursday begins three days of good food, great fun, exciting races, seeing people you haven’t seen for along time, and ending on Saturday evening with a spectacular fireworks display. No need to leave town to have a good time when it is right at your doorstep. If you come for the food, there will be Chicken BBQ and Pork Chops on Friday and Pulled Pork dinners on Saturday. You can even have breakfast on Saturday morning. The parade will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday and the Derby Race starts at 12:00 PM. Take a trip down memory lane and enjoy the Cruise-In at 5:00 PM. You can even go treasure hunting at the community garage sale. There is something for everyone to enjoy at Derby Days. Just remember that Commerce Street from Clay to Harrison Streets will be closed both Thursday and Friday beginning at 5:00 PM and all day on Sunday.

Just a Reminder

Published by jeff.sewert on July 26th, 2011 - in Uncategorized

We are fast approaching the exciting days of Derby Days.  Just a reminder that there will be a community-wide garage sale during Derby Days.  This is a good time to get rid of your “junk” which may be someone else’s treasure.  There will be no garage sale fee during Derby Days.

Hope you are able to stay cool during these extremely hot days that we have been having. There is free ice at the firehouse should you need it.  Also the room at the back of the firehouse has been designated as a cooling area.  This is also a good time to rediscover the library where you can enjoy a good book and be cool at the same time.

This week’s storm

The village is in the process of cleaning up after last night’s storm. If you have branches to be picked up, please contact the village office at 962-4377. We will put you on our list for pick-up. Please take your time when clearing out your fallen branches while we are in this current heat wave and be sure to stop for a drink of water. Thursdays is our normal day for brush pick-up, but we will try to get started tomorrow.
